@virtualetude "What is the purpose of PCR?"
DNA amplification for various forms of testing and experimentation, such as: DNA finger printing, paternity tests, transgenics, cloning, gene therapy, etc.

It looks great...just wish it had sound so that I could know what exactly I was looking at

Your animation skills are well, but you should do it slower, so the viewers can recognize the hole parts of the PCR.
Oh and you should comment it with your voice (or the voice of another). It always better with voice ;)
Keep up the good work

I don't see primers.
They are necessary for a PCR...

yeah - I should probably redo this animation :)

but I didn't include a lot of things, for instance the dNTPs in solution, the sub units of Taq Polymerase, the rest of the chromosome/genome, etc..

the first 2 times it copies, it gets shorter. yes?

true - I didn't illustrate that well in my animation, but obviously the first two cycles produce shorter daughter strands.
