At DIV 11, a group of diggers found this great pit which we figured was a latrine based on what was found. One digger, (sorry, can't remember your name) realizes he's just dug a "USA Hospital Dept" bottle in the video.
All of the footage shown was taken by Norman Byler from Farmville, VA. Thanks Norman for letting me work with this great classic DIV footage!

Bottle digging is sure a lot of work--but it's work folks like me love---a good bottle pit or latrine can have almost anything in it---you just never know what you'll find or as ol' Forrest Gump might say, "You never know what you'll get".

This was what is called Digging in Virginia event, where a large group of us get together and lease land that's been researched to save as many historical relics as we can, so that they won't be lost to plow damage or to time.

This was a large scale pay to hunt dig, and our time was up. That's how it goes though, and you just have to deal with it! The land was leased, and the landowner isn't quite as interested as we were.

Would you know what to do with it after you dug it yourself? sell it, keep it, or give it away......most people do not know what they have when they find something in the dirt.

I dont get it. Why is that guy wanting fill the holes in.If it was my land i would tell you guys to beat it and dig that shit myself.
