@sexygamestation95 Because Bioware wanted to try a different style of game from the typical fantasy story.

Frankly, the main problem was that they released the games backwards. Hawke is where we learn about the hero's 'origins'. If the first game was an origin story (not necessarily as Dragon Age 2, but AN origin story) and then we took Hawke out to an epic campaign like in Dragon Age: O - that would have been amazing.

@TheShmander They found time to court while campaigning against Urthemiel so I think they can squeeze in a little marriage counseling in the middle of the mage/templar war.

@sexygamestation95 if my warden was there, she would lift meredith by the troat and say "i slayed an archdemon you twit, and saved everyone's behind including yours from the blight, you will talk with only respect to the king" then her hubby sten would calm her down saying it is the quinari custom for warriors to be strong and his wife is no exception, she still would be a cousland tough (what can i say? i like the ending where your warden goes with sten to his homeland)

I hope Alistair is kidding with that comment, though it would be interesting if he and my Warden queen are having marriage problems after their rather lovey dovey courtship.
