Team Lotus purchases Caterham Cars

Team Lotus Enterprise today announces that it has purchased British sportscar maker Caterham Cars. The Formula 1 squad will see the legendary lightweight sportscar manufacturer expand its brand profile and product family.

Now they are a "new" formula 1 team in 2012 taking the place of Lotus, while Lotus has taken over the Renault team, so it's now exclusively known as the Lotus F1 team and the new Lotus backed team is known as Caterham F1 team.

This is great news and a great video... I would not mind betting that it is Tony who is an accomplished pianist, playing the piano. Let us not forget that it was Anwar who led the management buy some years ago. He has been the managing director for even longer; but now promoted to CEO overnight ! Colin formed TEAM LOTUS an independent entity so that that Lotus Cars could not pull the racing team down or vice versa, as with Toms TWR; god rest your souls.

Let us also not forget that; Tony & Anwar are both proudly British and that BRITS come in all shapes, sizes, colours and creeds... that is what makes up GREAT BRITAIN and the commonwealth. I get the feeling actually, that I would like Bahar; HOWEVER being Swiss of Turkish ethnicity, he does seem to have lost the plot when it comes to the spirit of an agreement and English property law.

Fernandes had plans with the brand Lotus. he wanted to build affordable sports cars. a market that would suit the name Lotus very well. Then Bahar became CEO of Group Lotus and said F*** you. Lotus Cars now going to compete in a market which is owned by Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini. And they will fail with their Line up of cars that are not what Lotus always stand for. Lightweight.
Caterham will now be the brand on which Fernandes built his affordable sport cars, like a real Elise successor.

Oh come on. Lets stop pretending that Lotus are coming back as a manufacturer. We have a team that is Malaysian that holds a license to the name (which the Chapman family disagree on) and a Malaysian owned company sponsoring Renault who beat Total to the naming rights. Lotus is in F1 as much as my MX-5 is a Lamborghini.
