@tothebatcave1 channel cats rarely break 20 LBs and with a world record of 58 LBs a channel cat of 40 LBs would be a once in a lifetime fish. more than likely it was a blue cat, which look almost exactly like a channel cat except they can get over 100 LBs... still half the size of the wells...

@jgmtiger my grampa stocked this little pond in the pasture behind his house and its been like 30 or 40 years an they had caught a 54 pounder about 10 years ago

@tothebatcave1 yeah in my pond i collect uniqe cats i have a few albinos yellows solid black then i have blues then i have gold brown spotted even a stripped one not to mention a alot of bass

@jgmtiger yea channel cats love liver but im always fishin for yellowctas or as other people call them flatheads i caught a 30 pounder about a week and a half ago

man i went and bought me a new deep fishing rod and some 50lb test line and went fishing the next day and casted with some liver about 3ft depth and fought this fish for 2hours!!! it was a 40lb catfish i just abotu shit myself wasnt as big as this one but was close we fellet him and omg
