@harrison633 this happens all the time. basically, there are about 50 different BBC one's all for different parts of the UK. E.G: BBC 1 Scotland BBC 1 south east, BBC midlands, E.T.C.
and because there is only one BBC one HD, (at the moment) the local version of the news will not be showed, because of all the different local news all over the UK can't be showed on the only HD channel, or else the news would always be on! so you have to switch to regular (local) BBC 1, if you want the local news.

Yeah, when we got Sky HD in, we were watching the news and I was like "WTF, this is stupid! They can't show local news yet?" Ya know, I think they still cna't xD

Just checked the built-in Freeview and it only has a DVB-T tuner. Thanks for all your help though =)
I have a BT Vision box, set to 1080i, and I can't pick this channel up. Help.

@FrancisIdents As far as I'm aware, BT Vision set-top boxes aren't DVB-T2 capable meaning you won't be unable to receive live Freeview HD channel broadcasts, though you can view HD content on demand (hence the 1080i setting option).

What about the built-in Freeview? Will that work?

@FrancisIdents Only if it has a DVB-T2 tuner. Look for mentions of Freeview HD within the manual. If not, you'll need a Freeview HD box (~£100), to receive HD channels via Digital Terrestrial.
