  • It's just strange without him behind a piano. Not sure if I ever saw him perform this way.

Anyone know what's up with that?

  • ....not really rare and he did playing drums, guitar and fiddle in his shows too.

  • Jerry looks a little lost without his piano. In fact he looks uncomfortable. He really knew how to put on a show in person (saw him several times). Great entertainer. Thanks for posting the video.

  • simply wonderfull....many thanks...

  • guitar player is really loud in the mix...

  • He cracks me up..This is in His sober days..Hes cute, funny and now OLD

  • ooh not sure I like him this way. Holding the mic. In a suit. Get behind the piano Jerry Lee..(love this song though)

  • Brutus2 and Elvie 1231:

It totally matters whether it was after Elvis died. Can you imagine the impact that Elvis' death had on JLL's psyche? Especially in the performance of a song regarding Middle Age, and Elvis dying in Middle Age! Please "Does it matter"! Of course it matters!

  • Middle-aged crazies! Recognize it, know it, live it, love it, and get over it. From one who knows. Thank you, JLL, for putting it in words which we can all feel and understand.

  • @justinwray I agree. He just owns behind the keys. Love this song in every version I have seen on here. Melancholy and so bittersweet. Love it, live it and know it. Thanks Killer!

  • After watching this and thinking it weird that he wasn't playing piano, I watched the other videos of Middle Aged Crazy and even when he's behind the keys, he never really plays the song, only very simple snippets throughout. The song involves a few more than the 3 chords all his songs employ - It's hard to imagine that it would be too difficult for him to play. Could it really be that the greatest Rock & Roll pianist in the world can only do his magic on three chord songs in the key of C or G?

  • look at his face, skin hair...he was younger here, look at some of the other videos, this is from around the late 70's

  • I love this song Jerry manages to convey emotions indescribable with this song
