All of the Imagery and Audio was modelled and synthesized using Open Source Seamless3d. It is probably the first movie in the world where NURBS have been used to synthesize all of the speech. All of the sounds including the noises are generated from sine waves (harmonics). NURBS patches are used to filter the harmonics. This way the patches control the amplitude of the sine waves in the harmonic spectrum over time. By shaping the patches all of the vowels, consonants and noises needed for speech can be sculpted by the artist opening up a whole new art form where the artist has complete control over the expression of the words much the the same way when modelling and animating characters. My real voice and my sister Anita's real voice were used to guide the synthesized tones and noises.

This is also the first movie made using the Anim bar's section edit and multi track edit features new for Seamless3d 2.172 (soon to be released).

I used real life movie footage to help guide Lucy's & Thyme's animation.

Ray Tracing was done using POV-Ray.

  • Good work, I especially like your lighting techniques

  • @skippybrand lol Skippy, I can detect a bit of an Australian accent in Lucy when she pronounces the word “thyme”, I think this came from copying my sister’s pronunciation. Thanks for your comment its much appreciated.
