You can do this now with any synth that has MIDI capability. I guess you could use it with any soft synth too. I wish I knew how to use the cubes' internal synthesizer capabilities. I know they are lo-fi, but still... It is a feature that I have not used them for yet. I only use the cubes at the moment to activate specific clips in Ableton Live 7.
