This is all a matter of opinion honeychild, for some people "Heer" was good because of her love for "Ranjha" and for some people she was an insult for her parents and community as she dated Ranjha even after getting married with Saida Kaana. Ranjha was such a shameless person that he went to Heer's in-laws' house as a servant and nailed her alongside for 12 consecutive years.
@MrMadahar Shabash! When Delhiwala Ghalib was asked: Are you a good Muslim?, by the colonial British administartor, his said: I am half a good Muslim: I drink alchohol, but refrain from Pork. Normally it is the poet who in Malāmatiyya rules makes himself blameworthy/immoral, not the reader! Another Delhilite Mir Taqi Mir blamed himself for immorality "Mir ke deen-o-mazhab ka poonchte kya ho un nay to kashka khaincha dair mein baitha kab ka tark Islam kiya". You even made her children immoral!
@MrMadahar Gold comes from dirt, the lotus grows in mud and heena only gives you colour after crushing. A poet has to experience all the parts of life (good, bad and ugly) in order to summarise and give us an inspiriing, thought provoking line. Amrita wrote about things she could feel sensitively. Who do you seek directions from to Moscow ? From someone who has been there and exprienced the road or someone who has read about it? Remaining in love-less marriage like others today was not her!
3-3 mard badlne waali aurat (she used to smoke the left-over cigarette butts by Sahir Ludhianvi). Left her husband Pritam Singh for Sahir Ludhianvi and after his death, she dated Imroz. I used to respect her but after reading her biography today, I hate her the most.
she is great

@nitanair100 this explanation does not justify the pain her children had to go through... Ek badkaar maa ke bachche.

Amrita Pitam is a poetess, never again.
How bold she had been in acceptance of the facts and to face everything.
I feel, Amrita had come to this earth s bit earlier.
