Just noticed your comment, sorry I didn't reply earlier. Yes it was sunny, in June highs in the mid 70's. Water is clear and beautiful, but very cold, snow run-off, I wouldn't recommend swimming unless you're a member of the polar bear club :)
I haven't been there at the end of summer, I would assume by mid august it would be warm enough to swim in. But overall beautiful park, and great hiking too.
