@VoidDeluxe Yup we are man according to various global economic agencies and even the UN said that.  Yeah the prison's there are good but what's the point of spending heaps of money on top notch prison's for people who don't deserve comfort and luxury? If i had my own way murderer's would just be taken out in some field and just shot in the head like they do in russia and china! Err, not to be pedantic, but women started campaigning for rights in the late 60s in Australia, and by 1973 already made significant gains.

Basically I agree with you, kinda, except look, there ARE racist Australians, & political ignorance/the right wing weren't suddenly dissipated in 1980.

Having said THAT, there seems to be some bizarre overseas misrepresentations of what Australian society & culture is actually like, when in actuality we're so multicultural & diverse.

We're the 2nd most developed country in the world? Huh? Where did that stat come from? What about facilities in rural Australia? I mean, we're relatively developed, but I'm surprised we're tailing only Norway. I saw a photo of a prison there and it looked like something wonderful, like a deluxe Ikea, like you'd do some kind of crime just to be able to move in there. ^^

But they're not exactly representative of Australia. Bogans are a cult of extremists - extremely bad music, clothing and politics.

Australia isn't racist! Its just the handful of old people who were brought up during a racist society (1900-1980) and the people we like to call 'Bogans' who are the iconic Aussie stereotype. And we don't hate America or England or Canada etc. But when one person or a group of people do or say something that is racist, our whole country is called racist by the rest of the world. And no, we don't kill and rape Aboriginals. That stopped in the 20's so suck on that The View.

@TempusIC Come on except the truth UAE has poor living standards and its public health standards are very low. It is third world and the only country outside the western world Australians will go to would be china as they are second world and chinese people are funny and cool. The western population in UAE is not even 1% so yeah what does that tell you? :P
