A Hindu ritual of getting in touch with departed elders. Once every year, these elders are believed to visit and bless the family in the form of ravens. On the chosen day, food is left for the visiting ravens. A family feast follows.
Before we ridicule these rituals, let me ask one or two questions: How many of us know for certain what happens to us after we die? Can we be certain that these people are wrong about the ravens who are fed on these occasions?
Whatever we in the west may think of these quaint rituals, these people are serious in their beliefs about them! And who are we and what do we know that can controvert their beliefs?
