November 4 2008. I took my small children with me to Rock the Vote in Independence MO. The children had voted at school that day and were buzzing with excitement over Mommy voting. One son voted for Obama and one voted for McCain :) so they were giving their little inputs on who i should vote for.
It was the first presidential election I was eligible to vote in since i was convicted of a felony . I finally had my right to vote back and no way was I wasting it.
After we voted we went to the park . I actually cried watching my children play , I felt so lucky to be a part of this election.
I am a low income , Medicaid recipient, reduced lunch program, food stamp recipient, public television watching , listens to the radio because its free...shops at garages sales, and thrift stores, public library card holder, 30ish American who lives pay check to pay check and I rocked the vote on November 4 2008 because I get a tear in my eyes when I watch the news at night .
5 star awesome !!! --:)Rod
