I don't know about you, but I would rather use the service I paid for and come off within minutes instead of waiting hours for the tide. I've never seen it done this way. Very cool! What's the advantage of doing it this way rather than using a bridle on the front cleats to spin the bow around and yank him off?

this may be the dumbest question ever...but the description says the ride was rising...why didn't they just....wait for the tide to come up...? seems that would have freed the keel...?

Absolutely not! .... The service was FREE for him because he WAS a Sea Tow member. This particular case was a member covered ungrounding. It would have been $650 if he [b]wasn't [b/] a member. That was a $20 tip he gave the captain. Someone that actually paid $650 probably would not give a tip.
