Repeal the healthcare law because it's "too expensive", or give health insurance to millions of uninsured individuals and in turn, save hundreds of thousands of lives? This is an outrageous topic to even consider arguing over!

Wow...so the only person who's completely unscripted and real is Ron Paul. Honestly..he's the only republican I'd ever vote for.

@madehero2007 unfortunately, facts and statistics dont match your right wing propaganda. Canada's health system is far cheaper, effecient, and effective than America's in every facet. Canadians are far healthier than Americans. Its because they have a system of preventative care and healing the sick. Americas system is meant to keep you dependent on drugs until you cant afford it then you die quickly.

@boobshoes Who gets to determine what is fair? Is it fair to take money from those that have earned it and give it to those that have not? Is it fair to allow the majority to ride on the backs of the wealthy simply because individuals feel that they are entitled to something? To me, fair is having the government get out of our lives and allowing us to live on our own. It is unfair to create a society that is fully dependent on the the federal government.

@alteredbeasts You're right. Her bill would have been zero dollars because Canada's LifeFlight system is far worse than that of the United States'. It is likely that she would have died before reaching the proper facility to treat her brain injury. We may not have socialized medicine in the US, but we do have access to better/more equipment, more advanced and accessable hospitals, and better trained individuals, which explains why many people come from other nations to the US for treatment.

And why are we talking about the guy that could afford insurance? Shouldn't we focus on the guy that can't afford it?

What about public schools? What if you can't afford to send your kid to school? Why is education expected to be provided but not the well being and health care of this countries citizens? Police and fire should probably be privatized as well. Oh your family member/friend was killed? Pay us and we'll investigate. Hell thats another special interest the GOP can pander to.

@gamingdolan360 Much of America's poor is already employed and working at minimum wage; and I doubt that the CEOs of these multi-billion dollar industries are going to let their pocket-money trickle down to the minimum wagers. Also in today's society, healthy low-cost food doesn't exist: a head of lettuce costs as much as an entire meal at McDonalds. A 'job' doesn't mean prosperity. There will always be poor, but you're saying that's the way it has to be for the rest of us to be happy.
People shouting "yeah" when he asks should society allow him to die? I recognize Ron Paul's point, and it's definitely a good one, but on the audience's part there, Christ, heartless sons of bitches. At least very bad form, if nothing else.

Health Insurance is expensive, because insurance companies are greedy.
