  • ...the actual lyrics to the song are muted or scratched. i like that, i dont agree with posting these beautiful songs in their entirety. its ashame to when one types in "navajo songs" on youtube all we find are "peyote" songs etc. i hate that that is what we've come down to, that is not my upbringing or tradtional belief nor is it of the navajo people and it is sickening. thanks for posting this video, it is comforting that somewhere are culture and tradional songs live on. aheehe' :)

  • @ponimoya thank you so much, that means a lot to me that you appreciated this posting!

  • Take this off YouTube it has no right to be on here.

  • im far away from home & when i came across this video i cried bc it gave me hope to stay in school & be strong enough to survive in the city. it may be disrespectful to some people but im glad this video was posted for kids like me who are too far from home & cant afford to come back anytime soon bc my parents spent every last cent to put me in school. thank you for posting this video, its helped me alot.

  • im glad stuff like this is on the internet, im navajo myself, and its pretty much the only way i can learn some of my traditon, being away from home. dont get me wrong, my family does teach me some of these things but its always just bits and pieces here and there. i want to keep my traditon strongand one day pass these things down to my children.

  • bad ass shit cant wait to go to another meeting hahahaaa

  • @mintypatch09 So when you get your education, will you return to the rez and further your tradition/help your people?

  • Certain songs are only to be sung in the ceremonial setting, 1reason behind this is that they carry certain "powers" that can be used for good or bad. If a person is not in the ceremonial setting, then these songs can have negative effects. Of course, those who dont understand concepts such as these are easy to brush it off as superstition &would rather maintain a sense of ignorance. It is not your song to give and share as you like, but I do not expect you to understand. Enjoy the "effects" ;).
