  • @kabardinka1 I also prefer musical dancers over the long legs/big extension type, but I think she has both qualities and her acting is also good. You can't just judge after watching a pair of Youtube videos. Her Kitri is not my favourite either, but she is an amazing Odile (and much better than the stiff Letestu IMO).

  • Excuse you arabesques are different depending on the training you have.....a russin position could be different from what they teach in Paris so shame on you..

  • I like how she teaches, though i dont understand a thing, I wish all teachers (not just in dance) were like this, some just dont give a shit

  • i prefer tall ballerinas for the swan lake, because they need to look like a swan. i wouldn't watch swan lake if they cast cojocaru whose height is just 5'2. for me, odette/odile must be at least 5'6. so i think gillot has a height perfect for this.

  • Maya, looks great! It is a pity she does not speak English.

  • @theamazingsoter Obviously, we all have our preferences in terms of dancers, and I've only seen her in videos. I think she's very stiff in her upper body and even gawky although she's got great extension. She looks as if she might dance Balanchine very well but I dislike her Kitri and the Raymonda Grand Pas Classique. She doesn't get the style at all. There are a lot of dancers like her... great technique, athletic but no magic and not very expressive. Maya had the magic and more.

  • Translation part 2:

03:48 It's good. But in the 4th arabesque you must show your back. Arabesques have to be done differently. (1st, 2nd, 3th, 4th) You must see your scapula in the mirror. It would be even better if you did this...This is the fourth arabesque.

05:00 Then pas de bourree en pointe. It's the 5th. (...) You run diagonally. Pas de bourree. 2 turns... two more turns. Only twice... two turns. And from here other two.

Odile... a demon. The devil. ;)
