Wouldn't this suggest though that a person leaving their body during and NDE would immediately feel cosmic consciousness? How is it that in fact they still seem to be concentrated in a place and time, and have a certain view point etc (eg. hovering above their body)?
once you experience the universal identity you will never be the same. i don't think it's something that can be explained... Infinity can only be felt, can only be experienced. I think through experience alone this is the way to truly understand that your brain does indeed edit out non local infinity. How do you explain the color pink to a blind man who has never seen? How do you explain a scale in the key of B minor to a def man who has never heard? Comprehension doesn't equal experience
