Michael Medved cannot explain why other countries like China can be perfectly safe without bases around the world but the United States must have them in order to be safe. Ron Paul was asked if he were President in WWII, would he invade Germany if he found out about the concentration camps. Paul said he would not because he would not have the authority. He would get the countries that surround Germany to put pressure on them to stop. The media twisted that to mean Ron Paul wouldn't of gotten involved in WWII. People forget that we didn't get involved until Japan attacked us. We were sitting it out and just provide weapons until the attack on Pearl Harbor.

That is, the very policy that Medved supports and thinks Paul is crazy for not supporting, is the very policy which requires (in his eyes) that the U.S. police the world and have an empire.
