Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix 2009. Lewis Hamilton wins! Felipe Massa's qualifying accident :(

What a weekend in Formula 1 at the Hungarian Grand Prix! Lewis Hamilton has his first win of the season for Mclaren. Ferrari's Raikkonen brings 2nd place home for the team, although he's talking about leaving next season for rally racing. Mark Webber takes 2nd place in the drivers championship, and brings Red Bull within 15 points of Brawn GP in the constructors championship. Jenson Button has a bad weekend with his car, and Ruben's Barrichello has a twitter feed giving us updates on Felipe Massa's horrific accident in qualifying. Nelson Piquet Jnr's last race, and the new driver Jaime Alguersuari is the youngest driver ever in F1 with his first race for Toro Rosso. Arizona 1993, Nigel Mansell crashed 180mph - backwards thru a concrete wall breaking his back! 4 weeks later he couldnt get into the car, so he was lifted into the cockpit by 2 mechanics, yet he broke the lap record and finished on the podium! He missed the following race due to several operations, but came back 5wks later to win the indianapolis 500! Thats the difference between racers & drivers..... Schumi being the latter, no doubt wimped out.

@FrodothePuppet Lmao, can't believe it's taken a whole year for someone to correct my error, I realized as soon as I wrote it. It was of course the Michigan 500 that Mansell won ;)

@bmk139 Mansell finished 3rd at Indianapolis in 1993. He led late, but Fittipaldi and Luyendyk (with more experience with restarts) passed him on the final restart. But yes, Mansell was very gritty. Justin WIlson's drive in Mexico City in 2006 reminded me of Mansell.
