Libyan Leader Gaddafi Arrives in Italy

Libya and Italy agreed to put the bitter colonial past behind them, and the occasion is marked by Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's first visit to Italy. Italy once ruled Libya for over thirty years. Gaddafi arrived in Rome and was greeted at the airport by Italian prime minister, Silvio Berlusconi. Gaddafi's four day visit includes public appearances and an address to students and 700 Italian women. Italy's 5 billion U.S. dollar reparations deal with Libya for the 30 years of colonial rule paved the way for the visit. The deal comes almost a century after Italian ships arrived off Tripoli in 1911 claiming to rescue Libya from Ottoman rule.

@paganesenato I know Italian people are good in nature, but Berlusconi gov is very corrupt; it is all about his personal interests. Libya and Libyans always looked up to Italy, but certainly not when they supported Gaddafi, no single Libyan likes Gaddafi, they just couldn't do anything to remove him.... hope soon it will be over and Gaddafi and his sons are history..
