@chipattack911 Actually, Nascar didn't own Grand-Am until 2008 so they had nothing to do with the conception or existance of the Daytona Prototypes that came 6 years earlier. Also Grand-Am is still a seperate entity. NASCAR isn't making thier decisions so they aren't the ones "destroying" the Rolex 24. (they're too busy destroying themselves to begin with). You want to blame someone for deciding to use the more cost effective Daytona Prototypes (and an even worse GT class), blame Grand-Am.
who owns the track? the international speedway corp (ISC) which is owned by nascar. bill france founded it.
therefore, it is nascar's choice and they're the reason to blame for the destruction of the 24 hours of daytona. These crappy looking cars now run there instead of the way more powerful, faster, better looking and sounding le mans prototypes. no wonder why there are about 10 people in the grandstands.
i hate how nascar now lights up the whole damn track. it's supposed to be a night race, where you actually need your headlights, not a stock car event.
@chipattack911 The lights are only run at like 25% power during the 24, so it's a whole lot darker than during a NASCAR night race.

@21DJM what i'm saying it that nascar basically runs the series now and it was their decision to light the track up.
the only reason i'm watching the video is for the amazing sound of the rx-8.
