Seattle Music Examiner / SMI had the opportunity to chat with Roger Fisher after the show. Fisher discusses what it was like to play with his friends and former "Heart mates" as well as the music that the band made while the trio was with the group back in the 70's. (Our apologies for the audio quality on the video. Unfortunately, there was no real quiet spot in which to conduct the interview and thus there is a lot of ambient noise in the background. There will be additional video interviews with Alan White and show footage coming up later in the week).

  • Someone could tell me the true reasons that pushed Roger, Steve and Michael out of the band, please?

I have a dream: to see a reunion of Heart Mark I !

  • Love to see them back together. Great band, miss the old stuff.

  • I don't think a reunion will ever happen because I'm sure Ann and Nancy both felt humiliated when the Fisher brothers screwed around on them. Plus one should just never live in the past. Also, everyone is just a different person now and that affects intraband chemistry.

The other thing is that it is pert near impossible to catch lightning in a bottle a second time. Look at the Deep Purple reunion: the gigs were pretty cool when Richie was in the band, but the newer music was mediocre at best.

  • Roger seems to have aged well. He has to be pushing 60. It would be nice if the original band members re-grouped but I dont think that will happen at this point. Heart still draws big crowds with just Anne and Nancy from the original band.

  • The original members of heart should put everything that happened in the past aside & get back together as the god-given band they were/are.All of that drama happened 30 yrs ago.Every1 has settled & matured. There are no threats..If grudges do exist..please let them go & let us have our band back.Heart is still good, but its like robert trying 2 replace zep. That was the magic, man. Its been 30 yrs.Thats a long time 2 hold grudges & lets face it,even god forgives. We fans miss the real heart terribly.

  • @edgarhillstation

who are you that you know ann? heart is emphasing their 70s sound now and rejecting their 80s sound (i love their 80s sound) so it might be befitting to have some original band members.

what was roger doing in the 1980s? most skilled guitarists move through different bands it seems or work as studio musicians for someone else.

  • Ya, know, what you have to say is worth hearing. I wish these interviews could be conducted in a place with less distraction. I'm really enjoying following your story.

  • If they ever do go into the Hall of Fame, It has to be the original line up. But knowing Ann, she won't ever play on stage with them. And that is a shame. Heart 's first 4 records are from a truly awesome band. Roger is a great guitar player.

  • Roger - you are so right - Heart will never be the same unless the original lineup gets back together!!!
