This is a short demo video I made of amateur radio CW propagation Beacon station K6FRC/B3 at Mt Diablo, California being heard here in Denver, Colorado on the ten meter amateur radio band . The station I was receiving was transmitting in CW (Morse code) on 28.274 Mhz and the call sign of the beacon station is K6FRC/B3 (The letter "B" signifies a beacon station) and this station was transmitting from Mt Diablo, California (Not far from San Francisco) and it was transmitting at a low power level of only 1 watt and I was hearing them 927 miles away! I heard them on September 1st, 2009 at 02:15 UTC.
The propagation conditions on the ten meter amateur radio band will continue to improve as we get further into solar cycle 24 and in a year or two, it should be possible to easily communicate world wide with other amateur radio stations using low power and simple antennas!
For more info about the K6FRC/B3 beacon station, go to their website at http://k6frc.10mbeacons.com/ and for more information about ten meter amateur radio propagation beacon stations, go to http://www.monitoringtimes.com/MT-10meters.pdf

Paul,
Thanks for the comment! I saw the photos of your Beacon station setup on your website and you have a nice set up there on the mountain! Very neat and pro looking installation! I am constantly checking your beacon frequency for possible band openings.
Just got a 1/2 wave dipole installed on my apartment balcony, so, that should work better than the mobile mag mount being used indoors!
