@milenaor it was opening day in a cold drizzle and john wangler didnt play. michgans 2 td's were both passes to little anthony.

anthony carter wore a tear away jersey because they were bringing him down by his shirttail. they didnt bother sewing his name on the throw away jerseys.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't UM have three 1000 yard rusher that season, or very close. Wolfolk, Edwards and Ricks. They had a hellva offensive line that year.

when BO was coach did we have any night games at MICHIGAN STADIUM?! AND how come UofM doesnt have night games? I think it would be badass to have the Buckeyes home for like a 8PM showdown!

Great video, but the game I really want to see from the 1980 season is the North\western game.
How the hell Michigan allowed the hapless Wildcats, in the middle of their record breaking losing streak, to make it the game so close - 17-10, I will never know.
If anyone has highlights of the game, please post it.

I was only 6 months old when that game took place but I remember reading that John Wangler was still injured so Rich Hewlett started at QB and played HORRIBLE. That might be one reason the score was close.

hey how come everyone has names on the back of their jerseys except Anthony Carter?

1980 was the first season in which the players wore their names on their jerseys. However you never saw Carter's name on his. During the 1981 and 1982 seasons, Carter's name appeared on his jersey.
