Palmer, Iam in the process of trying to buy the licensing and exclusive rights to Zickos- who as you know were in the Kansas area, and currently and again out of business. I would love to ask you a bunch of questions. I even went as far to talk to Michael Dawson, the managing editor of Modern Drummer, which I'm sure you read. They are rooting for my success. When and from whom did you buy your Zickos drumset? When was it made? Have you been to their website? I'm trying to solve a mystery.

Hey Palmer, very cool solo! You should know that Iam in the process of trying to get the licensing and owner of exclusive rights to Zickos. Iam a drummer of 35 years, and wouldn't mine learning your technique. Do you teach? What is that cymbal setup you got there? What kind of heads are those? Zickos is apparently out of business, but if I get success with my goals, I want you to be an endorser.

LED's were just 36 years behind schedule, otherwise they would have come standard mounted inside Vistalites and Zickos.

I think I used the setting that is directed toward the sound source (non-room setting) and positioned the mic a couple of feet directly in front of the kit and a bit above the high--tom in height. Have fun and experiment! P

I have been wondering... if regular sets are better than acrylic sets or are they the same?

I think it's a manufacturing debate to start with (Then sound, durability and appearance). Wood as a material is inconsistent. Acrylic, carbon fiber, metal all can be controlled from the start, in theory, keeping a consistent sound. Having said all that, I'm using a maple kit now and I love it. My dream kit is probably a Trick aluminum, but I have limited $. What feels good, sounds good and is the right budget for you is what's best.
Cheers, P

Where do you hav the mic? you do have a Macintosh right... am thinkin about getting a snowball mic to my pc with vista do you think it will work?

I think the mic was placed a foot in front of the bass drum above the toms in height. I would go to Blue's web page. You can download the manual. Cheers!
