http://trafficlightningrod.com/yourfirstyearinnetworkmarketing - Your first year in network marketing is like pledging a fraternity or a sorority. You are joining a group of people who get the business, want freedom and want more out of their lives than the rest of the 9-5 world. However, being a pledge is a thankless job.

For the sake of argument, lets say your first year in network marketing, you are pledging a fraternity. Right before you joined the frat, all of the members were super nice to you, your sponsor called you regularly to see how you were doing and everything sounded great.

You were lured with visions of huge parties with lots of girls and everything is just like the movie Animal House. You only hear about the good things. Likewise in our industry, you are only told about all of the money you are going to be making, the trips you are going to win, you get to fire your boss and you can work from the beach.

Sound familiar? Then, you sign up and your sponsor no longer calls, people arent really there for you and you are left with an unending list of grunt work to do. Wheres the love? Dont let poor follow-up ruin your first year in network marketing.

Most uplines are pretty worthless, but if you did your homework and joined a real leader, you are going to be given a long list of tasks to perform. Obviously, your leader is not going to tell you to clean the toilets with your toothbrush or wash his car, but you will have a ton of work to do.

In your first year in network marketing, you will realize that when you first start in this industry, you are completely underpaid. You will do a lot of work that have no immediately results. But, if you stick with it and make it through the pledge period, you will be ridiculously overpaid.

Luckily, theres hope; if you align yourself with a good mentor and coach, your pledge period wont be a yearlong and youll look back on it as the most work youve ever done, but also the most fulfilling. That much I promise you.
