From the Church of John Lennon; The Sick Cult of Celebrity Worship Part Deux

or the use of John Lennon's image to promote the charity OLPCFoundation.

Celebrities, even dead ones have been imitated for purposes ranging from profit, humor and even charity. This just goes along with being a celebrity. I like the Beatles, but the late John Lennon IS NOT A DEITY! He marketed, I mean "preached" world peace and love, but you ignore major world events (as boomers the largest demographic with huge political power that CAN make a difference) and instead, in large numbers you make a big stink over a copyright.

It's a CHARITY for crying out loud!!!

No wonder what is wrong with this country. Get over it.

The statements I made before are very germane to this video as well as your others. Spell check doesn't tell you if you are using a word incorrectly, ie. vein. It also doesn't catch your other grammatical errors in this and other videos. Again, why should anyone put stock in opinions of someone who can't write correctly. That should be obvious.

I digress. Did you look into the charity? I don't agree with it. My cousin visited Africa with a charity group. They don't want laptops. They want food and water.

The impression was poorly done and is evidence that Yoko is desperate to shove John's image into the faces of today's youth. That's what our issue is. It's not that out 'god' is being overdubbed.

I put forth a very straight forward arguement about how Beatle's fans are making a big stink over superficial matters. Which Beatle's fans do. I'm NOT arguing the fact that impovershed kids in Africa need food or water. There are charities for that already. Is there not?

You might want to get into phonics and comprehension classes before you attack anyone on their grammer. The message was fine. You're taking your bias WAY too far.

My comments about the charity were in reponse to your overstated 'It's for a charity' argument in the video. Not charities are worth contributing to.

My comment about why people are upset was supposed to clue you in on how stupid and assuming your arguments are. Clearly you missed that. So much for being captain obvious.

Jesus Christ or Christianity is the most marketable commerciallize idol celebrity ever. Because of it written so called scripture mythologies has been revised/ rewritten/reworked for marketing sake and be maarketed to the mass public. Further more dark ages were needed to validate christianity and be markatable. Now this barbarism is marketing to the extreme, while one song of John Lennon is so clear and will stand time. Realcaptobvious, everyone who wanted peace and belief in the world and humanity and didn't NEED a hero to worship as the poster-boy of peace could still relate to John, and those who were a bit ignorant were turned on to fighting for peace BY John. Either way it was great,he promoted peace using the media, and that method has never been more relevant so what's your problem? john's image shouldn't be used by advertisers unless it's for something he greatly believed in. which he would be all for.

But you still miss the point. The man is dead. I keep hearing that "he would have wanted it if he was alive." but he isn't so he didn't make a choice to make a commercial. There is where i think is wrong.

A satirical parody can go far and wide. The moral dilemma is when is it right for strangers to use a dead persons image to gain what they want?

Regardless if its good or bad.

If anything, is it an option to just use dead people and without their consent put them in a commercial? You tell me
