  • I don't understand one thing. Why do my fellow karateka always run around the ring with a chambered fist after they THINK that they scored a point? It makes no sense to me. Try that in a fight and see what happens. it is like celebrating a touchdown that you know is going to get reviewed. Your theater is not (or at least should not) be adding to the judges' decision.

  • kyokushin is way way better

  • Ossu!!!!

  • ahhh finally i find a awsome video of shotokan sparring

  • @jvcdotnet On My channel I have a punch controlled that if unleashed would destroy any BJJ of MMA fighter in its way. It is Karatedo at its best!

  • @kempobrad OMG! How did I miss your comment??? You are correct! one of my instructors. Shihan Errol Bennet won a full-contact NHB all-styles tournament in Harlem in 1975 (yes, before the UFC) and won it with his Shotokan! He took the title with a Mawashi-geri to the temple, a clean knockout and he Kiaid before it landed! he was told be his teacher Oshima, that the "answers are in the kata" from the "high crotch" throw in Unsu to the elbow strikes in the Heians, Karate has much to offer.

  • @jvcdotnet I always here MMA this and MMA that. I have trained in judo as well as BJJ because I need to know what I am talking about, few "get it" that BJJ, Muay-Thai and other fighters get knocked out also lol! I don't see any BJJ fighter having a "gimme" against either Yahara or Elwyn Hall! I suppose the blame should go to the commercial karate schools and the move to "pillow sport".

  • @CLEVELEFS I agree with you 100%. Joe Lewis uses the word conviction a lot because its necessary to deliver the techniques with their full potential.

  • @kempobrad Some don't realize the power of someone who's been hardening their hands for years, building timing, learning how to move, against some untrained wanna-be tough guy who can't move with no timing or defense. Karate is indeed underrated. Yes karate has lost its way in some places but get in there with the top guys. I encourage people who don't appreciate karate and think its useless to enter this tournament. Prediction, broken ribs 10 seconds in. These guys are trained and getting KO
