The SCOTUS did find that the constitution covers marriage. The following was found of the protections of the constitution.

"Marriage is one of the "basic civil rights of man," fundamental to our very existence and survival."

They can NOT find it a "basic civil rights of man" EXCEPT for gays. Otherwise that would be DISCRIMINATION....

I get MAD at Christians who attack GAY people rather then love them. Why is everyone so against raising taxes?You americans get petrol so much cheaper than most countries it's absurd. Take where I live, UK. I pay almost 2 dollars/LITRE, and you pay, what $2.50 GALLON! (theres 4.5 litres/gallon) So a rise of 20 cents isn't going to kill you, we pay 4 times as much and I survive. And it's not like this money is going to be nicked by the govt to pay for their luxury cars, it's going to be spent on healthcare, education etc. Same with income tax. What's the problem?

Relax folks. The only way to stop gay marriage once and for all is to present a consistently applicable legally valid justification for why a man can legally marry a woman, but a woman cannot. How funny.... Tom Campell, per the polls, was the only one who had a chance at defeating Barbara Boxer. Carly Fiorina, who won the Rep nom, has NO chance, per the polls! (Maybe it's because she got FIRED from Hewlett-Packard?) Thanks NOM for helping keep Ms. Boxer right where she belongs! :)
