Internship or No Internship?
Are internships a smart way to gain experience and break into the entertainment industry? The National Film Society's Patrick and Stephen disagree with each other on this one. Big time.
The National Film Society Is Looking For Interns!
How to apply - Leave a comment down below on YouTube, Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/NationalFilm...) or Twitter (http://twitter.com/NatFilmSociety) answering this question:
Why do you want to intern with the National Film Society?
NFS Internship FAQ
DO I HAVE TO LIVE IN LOS ANGELES?
No. While we have a preference for interns in LA, we are willing to work remotely with interns outside of Southern California.
HOW LONG WILL THE INTERNSHIP LAST?
3 months.
IS THE INTERNSHIP PAID?
No. Definitely not.
WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES?
This depends on the skills of the intern(s) we select. However, we are interested in having interns who can handle graphic design, photography, writing, animation, computer graphics, research and editing.

Hi, my name is Bre and I'm a huge fan of your videos and I follow you on tumblr. I'm currently a rising junior at DePauw University majoring in communications with a minor in film studies. It's my goal to obtain a job relating to film after college. Though I'm interested in becoming a film reviewer or a professor of film studies (or maybe even both) I am trying to learn as much as I can about the film industry before I graduate from college. Which is why I'm interested in this internship.

I'm very interested in the Internship, but I think I'd be doing it for the wrong reasons. I want to know how to get my hair like that! Looks awesome, Patrick!

Glad you like us enough to even consider another internship after you last one. That sounded rough.

Hi! I am Maryna, a BYU film student from Ukraine. I am in love with film and love being on set. I have experience working on a few low budget projects as an Art Crew, PA, grip, and editor. I would love to do this internship because the video that you made shows that it would be fun and creative to work in your environment+I can gain great demo reels and learn a lot I'm sure. Also I am super dependable and ready to do things that a good shot requires. Best reward after hard work is a great result

You don't have to know anything in particular. However, the more the you know, the better chances you have.
