  • @evanh311 i mean "not liking the antics" is of course a preference i respect whole heartedly, but (in my opinion of course) characterizing it as buggering it up for effect with eccentricities is far from the truth. The man breathed interpretation and had nothing on his mind or in his heart than being honest as hell to the music and what he thought would bring the most honesty to his playing. i would highly recommend the Kevin Bazzana biography.

  • Muchas gracias por compartirlo.

  • @evanh311 i cannot hear the antics--i only hear beautiful music...

  • Formidable... Aquest home, malgrat que el titllessin de no tenir tècnica, era un veritable geni. Gràcies per compartir-lo!

Great... This man, although many people said he had a bad technique, was a real genius. Thanks to share!

  • Immortal.

  • The 55 had youthful zeal but with architectural strength and satisfaction- you can't step into the same river twice, it's the same for us all.

  • @evanh311 ill take goulds eccentricites over stuffy santized and antiseptic playing anyday...now all the other interpretations seem strange to me...

  • Thank you!

  • I'm sure any teacher would have said "don't sit like that, your arms are too low, etc".

And this proves that teachers may be wrong ;-)

  • Gould is better in his old age- tamer. Still, I don't like the antics at the keyboard. Musicians are to play the music, not bugger it up for effect with calculated eccentricities. It's strange to hear the humility of Bach interpreted by ego maniacs

  • Finally, a Gould video with decent sound quality! Thanks.

  • Quelle sérénité....

  • Thank You Gould, for recording all of this and enriching our world!

  • Thank you for uploading. This is a legendary recording and to see him at work is amazing!

  • Great uploads .....with good info . Glenn Gould is marvellous , and sound is...
