  • You'll notice that the sparking only occurs during the entry to the material. We made this video with a very early version of VoluMill, and have since added the option for a separate spindle speed when making a ramping or helical entry into the material. That generally eliminates the sparking. I should note, though, that the tool in this part performed just fine and had no discernable wear afterwards.

  • How would that perform in 4140/4145 steel? That's the standard material we machine in. We also have normal material like 165M and more "exotic" materials like 13% chrome, Inconel, Duplex/super Duplex, Titan gr5. Those are also VERY common at our place, since we make a lot of stuff for the oil.

  • Uh sparks on 1045? thats nevera good thing.
