@mopardog94 It's cheaper to repair or rebuild the engine then to replace it with a Hemi, the 6.1 liter ones are harder to find then the 5.4s. If the original engine was a 383 or a 400 it can be built up with lots of power, if it has a 440 it will have more power then you will ever need once it's done, Summit racing has lots of cheap rebuild and rod parts for big block MoPars.

@Srd1126 Not hard to make one run again, usually, and a much better made and better driving car then a Chevette, I would have gone for it myself.

My buddy almost got thrown out of the house by his mother because he wanted to trade his Chevette for one like this--without a running engine!

@mopardog94 Why would you put a lame ass 6.1 hemi (if you want to call it that) into a classic? Put the right motor in this car - the one it came with, or one from that era. Next thing you know this car will have a fucking gay ass wing on the back and 26" rims. Poser....

Albee213 : The 1973 has the big five mile per hour safety bumper on the front. The big back bumper didn't come out until 1974. But in 1974, they changed the whole body entirely.

Beautiful car. I used to have a '72 Newport, 4-door sedan with the 400-V-8. It got 27 miles to a gallon of gas.

i just got a 1971 4 door for $900 going to cleaner her up and get me a 6.1 hemi and put it in her sence the engine is shit
