  • omg i want one. where did you stumble upon this?

  • I've had it since the early/mid 90s at least. Pretty sure it was from K's Merchandise which is out of business now.

  • I've been snooping around on here and I've found out that all of those old weather radios from the 80's/90's have the siren ... where have i been?! It just sounds so much better than 'beepbeedeebeepbeepbeep'

  • The problem is they only recognize the 1050hz tone and can't distinguish between which counties the alert is for. Most new radios have an external alert jack to bypass the default tone, then it'd just be a matter of finding or building a 12v siren to connect to it

  • I'd LOVE to get my mitts on that siren's circuit that definitely uses transistors and is 100% analogue and 100% off the shelf.

  • I have that same weather radio, and I got it around the same time you did. It still works fine, but I have to remember to turn it off before I go to sleep Tuesday night. Otherwise, it'll wake me up during Wednesday morning's weekly test.

  • holy hell thats loud O..O thats like a klaxton!

  • what is the EAS saying?
