ive trained No-gi jiu jitsu for 3 years, and just started training in the Gi. It's a huge ego check to be a white belt and having to go through each stripe ceremony before ranking up. Then gets even worst wen people think im sand bagging it.But, i love training in the Gi and look forward to my promotion when ever it comes

Best advice you could possibly give to anyone starting any form of martial art or combat sport!

So true Ken. Ego is not your friend in the martial arts.

@undeadpresident 5.5-7 years with a GOOD coach. If you train hard 5 days a week, and are regularly on the medal stand at tournaments.

Hey Kenprimo, Ive been training no gi for 7 yrs now, 1 to 2 days a week, my game is pretty good, Ive tapped out blue belts and purple belts along the way, but still haven't gotten my blue belt, is that normal because I train no gi?

How long does it take to earn a black belt if you train everyday?

@kenprimo hey ken ! i see you do some simple basic technique videos ... i had one question ... if your about to pass the half guard into side control and the opponent is push your hips back with his hands , what do you do ? this stopped my last week haha im just a begginer . hope you get this even though this is an old video i might post again on a different video . thanks keep up the tips !

What do you do when you have to wait over three months for a bankart repair to heal? Not to mention I needed the bankart repair after dislocating my shoulder in my first tourny. Sucks ass. All I wanna do is train but even if I try to scratch my nugget with that arm I risk ripping the sutures in my shoulder socket.
Guess I could work on leg flexibility, have any stretching exercises you can recommend?
Hey kenprimo how long you been doing this?
