Stratluver, the guys you cited are awesome guitar players, no doubt. But I do not agree with you: Chris Cain is a fabulous blues guitar player, I think everybody that have seen him perform live would agree. His tone, feeling and sense of improvisation are unique. That makes him "great" to me . Anyway it is useless to compare musicians this way .

You see? This is why I can't like "famous" guitarists like John Mayer. We have people like Robben Ford, Chris Cain, Volker Strifler, Buddy Whittington, Jack Pearson, and Redd Volkaert running around making unreal music. Sadly, they don't get the recognition they DESERVE. They are playing on a level so high that most don't have a clue. I wish it was....like it was back in the old days....when the cream would rise to the top. This is how is supposed to be done.

@stratluvr Clapton,Taylor, and peter Green can't be everywhere, these guys fill in quite nice. These are some young guys and I think they are great anyway, way much more than competent. And all forms of music also go over "the same old ground" eventually. They all get a thumbs up from me....my 2 cents.

I hate to sound like a dickhead but I really don't think anyone up there is great ,good yes but not GREAT there is no Johnny Winter,Rory Gallagher Mick Taylor Jeff Beck,SRV, Albert Collins,Freddy King,Peter Green or even a young Clapton up there,instead there's a bunch of competent players going over the same tired ground and not bringing anything new to the table,sorry guys
