Sports Servants: Coaching Workshop 2008

n its first chapter of Summer 2008, Sports Servants hosted its 3rd annual Coaching Workshop (June 30-July 4) in San Narciso village. Led by Coach Richard Klausner of Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville and other experienced American players and coaches, the workshop brought in old friends as well as new faces to learn how to bring impactful soccer programs and coaching to Belizean children. The program emphasized sportsmanship, positive coaching, and community involvement in addition to teaching and practicing different facets of the game. Throughout the week, a number of remarkable people stood out. Each of these new friends came to the workshop for the first time and for their own distinct reasons. All, however, share the common bond of desiring affirming opportunities for the children in their community.
