My Etsy store is NOW OPEN!!! Please visit at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/laurapoopie?ref=si_shop

This is a birthday cake for a young lady named Rebecca who is turning 15 years old! She LOVES shoes and especially loves her white and baby blue pair of Nike Jordan's! Her Mom surprised her with this cake for her birthday! She LOVED it! :) The entire cake is Chocolate and is covered in white fondant. No need to color, thank goodness! :) All of the elements added to the cake were made out of fondant. The board was covered in fondant and airbrushed baby blue which I made by mixing some of my AmeriColor colors. :) Hope you all like it! Hooray for my first shoe cake! :)

  • i really enjoyed watching your video..great job!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH! :)

  • Thanks for replying.....i recognized the rounds but is was the 2 bottom layers that i didnt. were they 2-----9x13. or did you use one size cake pan and cut it in half??? I just want to make sure i do it right. THanks again

  • You're welcome! I believe they were rectangular pans cut in half, but I can't remember exactly what size they were. The shoe you make may be a different size than the one I made, but it's fairly easy to just eyeball the size of pan you'll need. I usually bake 2 rectangular pans and then cut those in half and stack'em. :)

  • This is am amazing cake....my husband saw it and is asking me to make it for him next month!!

  • Thank you so much! Glad you liked it! ;) I'm sure your cake will come out awesome. For your other comment, the cake pans I used to carve the shoe out of was 6" rounds for the top part and I think 10" rounds for the bottom... Thanks again! :)
