Wow the 2.0L sounds way different than the 2.5L, this is an amazing time with a 300HP car. The ring tends to favor high HP cars because of the long straights.

No dissrespect meant at all as that was a fantastic lap, but as Tommi is a rally driver would a touring car driver or F1 driver be quicker on a road circuit?

This is a stock 2.0 Turbo Jap spec STI with a roll cage being driven by Tommi Makinen World Rally Champ and one of histories best ever Subaru STi drivers. The car has no engine modification and is the exact same model on sale in Japan.

This Impreza has been especially handcrafted for the Nürburgring, with special engine, turbo, suspension, body parts, electronics, etc. – it has absolute nothing to do with the Impreza you and I can buy. With all the very expensive modifications required to achieve the 07:55 lap time Subaru just emphasizes how lame the stock version is and that the current STI offers no substantial improvement over the previous models. Just forget the STI, his time has come to an end.
