As I was doing my main run of Silent Hill 2, I got a lot of questions about the symbolism of the monsters, just what they're doing there, and various other "behind the scenes" things about our favorite haunted resort town. In this video and the next, I hope to cover some of these particular topics. Thus, no actual gameplay in these two vids, but hopefully, the information shall still be interesting. Also, due to my discussion of these topics taking longer than I had anticipated, a bit of a bonus on this vid! Stay tuned at the end for the CG intro of Silent Hill 2. Now that I've played through the game, I don't have to worry about it spoiling anything.

  • Can you analyze the monsters in Silent Hill Origins?

  • I will likely consider that when I get to it.

  • Question. In silent Hill: Origins, there is a pyramid head looking figure referred to as the butcher. I've had very hardcore silent hill fans claim that although he looks somewhat similar to pyramid head, he is not. But in Silent Hill: Homecoming, the pyramid head looking figure, seen twice (technically 4 times) is referred to as "the bogeyman", however hardcore fans who really have analyzed the game all say that he is definitely pyramid head. Why is that?

  • The Butcher's role differs greatly from Pyramid Head's, as do their looks. The Butcher for instance does not wear the helmet, he just has a small metal half-mask fused to his face.

  • May not be anything symbolic, but...I always thought it was interesting that Maria's hair is blood-red at the edges. Granted she's dressed in red too, but something about her hair being so boldly blond, yet retaining a crimson color at the ends just makes me wonder if there was something to it.

  • I think it was just intended to make her look more exotic, more of a fantasy for James.

  • ... Mandarins look like closers from the 3rd game...

  • ¿Are you brittish my friend?

  • Baggage is back

  • The orignal verson had more voices such as the videotape part mary aculliy speaks

  • So basically Silent Hill is a conduit to hell itself or a world that punishes those who have lost hope?

That's a very scary thought to think this seeing Silent Hill is a real place and can appear NORMAL if you don't have a big problem.

    BRILLIANT Konomi! :D
