@0SierraMaestra0 The key word there is that it "seems" antithetical to metal. There is more to metal than just fast, hardcore music. I'm not exactly an expert on music theory or history, but there are definitely some similarities to metal in it. It would be better to say that it is reminiscent of metal. It's also an offshoot of metal, not "pure" metal. It could be called "gothic metal" or "symphonic metal". As mentioned earlier, I'm not an expert on it but it's only antithetical at first listen
