This is an absolutely great performance of Joni Mitchell singing Night Ride Home! This was recorded at the banks of the river Amstel in Amsterdam for a Dutch music programm called "Twee Meter Sessies" (two meter sessions). The man you see in a glimpse opposite Joni is Jan Douwe Kroeske

@HumongousJohnson I appreciate your sentiment, but don't write off contemporary music. Your phrase "it's manufactured noise produced to make money" is exactly what our parents said about Joni Mitchell. Every generation has its wondrous talents and its poseurs, and remember, for our generation there were 100 Andy Kims and Gary Pucketts for every Joni Mitchell. Check out Kathleen Edwards, Sia, Tori Amos, Over the Rhine, and many other contemporary artists. Discover new horizons!

@Mousey77027 I'm getting this way too. As I learn more, and as I just fell for someone, she is right there singing in my head, songs I hadn't heard since I was a girl. I feel so lucky... you must be too.

Joni is Goddess. I love her and her music; it has accompanied me for the last 42 years. The garbage that they are pushing now is not music and certainly not art; it's manufactured noise produced to make money.

Simply wonderful. No tricky production, backing singers, backing musicians, overdubs, or various takes pieced together in a studio.
