1987 K5 Blazer (Big Truck)

This is my lifted K5 Blazer. Has an 14 inch lift kit under it with 38 tires. I took the original 350 out of it and dropped in my 454 that I have bored out and put in a bigger camshaft. (Sorry bout the sound, did this on the wifes digital camera.) I will get a better video when I can find my camcorder.

I changed out the stock 350 cause the guy I bought it from blew it up and I really didnt have to change alot when I put it in. I used the stock mounts, but I had to cut out the air conditioning cause with that big motor it would fit. everything else went in fine

I don't know what to tell you. Sorry man. I actually bought the blazer and everything the way it is, I just swaped out the motors. I know a little bout the blazer but nothing on how the drive line was corrected to make it work. Sorry.

oh much mpg does this thing have cuz...my grandpa has one at our ranch and wants to get rid of it and i want it but my mom said it probably has horrible mpg i thought it got like 17mpg but she said theres no way its an old piece of junk but i love that damn thing lol

@atvchick09 My blazer only gets about 5-6 mpg because of the way that I have my motor built. I have to run premium gas in it because my compression is so high that I need gas that will burn better. I have over 600 horsepower in the motor. It all depends on what kind of motor is in your vehicle and the way it is set up depends on the gas mileage you will get!

nice man. my dad had just the body of an 85 blazer that he was doing for a project but then he found him self and old 78 ford so i took the blazer over and built the motor for it so its got a 403 big block with a 12in lift and 4in body lift on 40s and still have room for 41s. its a good truck to have i dont think id trade for anything

I just got me the same blazer but mines a 370 pretty much now and only has 38in wheels and 5in lift but the pips run straight from the raceing headers i got put in today so its real nice but you call daddy on mine damnit haha, but nice truck bro

i have a kick ass 87 k5. rear axel was swapped and tranny has been swapped to one much better than the 700r4, but now i drive around a 97 camaro, just can't go the same places in that camaro lol.

did the 454 use the stock motor mounts? what did you change to fit the big block?
