Very fine, but it adds nothing to the Persuasions' version. In fact it's exactly the same arrangement and Mr. Torres is imitating Jerry Lawson word for word and note for note. Torres is certainly a good singer but, for me anyway, Lawson is better.

They did, however, figure out how to make the bass as good as the Persuasions': get the same man. It's always great to hear Jimmy Hayes.

My kids n I have listened 2 The Persuasions since 1973! They grew up on this n when their friends came over they would just sit there with their mouth's hung open! Then they started listening.. If they are still performing I would LOve to know where n when? Please if anyone knows anything of them performing please call me! I think Gil is probably the best doowopper out there on the circuit . I don't know him personally but I've heard him with the pursuassions and the Larkings and backing for the Orioles ,,,,,,,true talent

I've only heard this one tune but I already know that you're way better than the kid with the spit bucket. If Jerry is Ali you're at least his sparring partner. I'd like to hear your group if you ever play the DC area. Do you have a web site with your schedule?

The first version I ever heard was The Impressions (Curtis Mayfield et al) which is still one of my favourite ever tracks...but this version is better!!

I liked this version. The harmony reminded me of the soul groups of the 60s and 70s. It was a nice take on a classic.
