  • hey man if your battery is weak (bmw) will it cause the car to throw codes or run rough. maybe the computer is not getting the proper voltage?

  • @crescentfallen99 actually that is a good question. A dying battery will ONLY effect other things in the electrical system that require a healthy battery. The battery in the car pretty much does its most important work from when the engine is off to the second after your turn the key to start the engine. With the engine off the battery is the only source of life your car has. The biggest thing that rely on the battery being fit is the Alternator which can die as a result of an old battery.

  • How did you register the battery?

  • @kkfn I have absolutely no idea what you mean by "registering" the battery. Car batteries are plug and play. It doesn't need to be coded or registered to the car

  • One more question, have you reset your battery adaption? Some one said the new battery will not be charged if don't reset. How about your experience?

  • @miyatacn No you do not need to reset anything when replacing a battery other than the clock on the radio. lol.

  • Please Help hey tell me i have a 2000 bmw 5 the battery was replaced 2005 since the summer of 2011 its been die now winter febuary 2012 and its been dying every morning. also it was in 2 small accidents but bst not blown also have a dsc light on instromant panel meaning bad sensor. so what is going on.

  • On e46 vehicles if you put a higher amperage battery in you must use the BMW programming system to 'retrofit' a higher amperage, but there isnt a function to register the replacement.

  • @kkfn Registering battery replacements are only required on E60 models and up. What is meant by 'registering' is if you change the battery, especially if the new battery is a different amperage, it must be logged into the DME/DDE (engine ECU). It is important this is done in order for the altenator to charge the battery properly, seeing as the DME/DDE controls the charging rate. Registering battery replacements can only be done as far as i know by using BMW diagnostic equiptment.

  • @olaf2046 NICE!
