This year at Mysterium 2011 (held in Waltham and Boston, MA) we had a lovely interview with Cyan World's Rand Miller (aka: Atrus or Achenar). The interview discusses problems with Cyan's current economical resources, future projects, and even Rand's shiny office (complete with fireplace).

  • "That's a feature." Brilliant.

  • @ronniekyo It would benefit both sides. They could acquire Bethesda soft works new engine that is used in Skyrim and make their own game based upon what they've learned form myst. Or they could go with the Id Tech 5 engine which has AWESOME texturing,

  • @tehatemachine That'll be better and a crossover with the elder scrolls with myst and that'll be the biggist crossover in gaming.

  • And this why cyan worlds open my creations.

  • The Miller brothers are like gods for fantasy games.

  • I hope they get back to their feets pray for them everybody!

  • it's such a shame that Cyan is facing financial problems, you can see it on Rand's face when he's being reminded of this.

What's with this whole 'Unfinished business' thing? Seriously? from a great company that is known for Myst I would expect to slap themselves and say: Nap time is over, Let's get down to business!'

Myst fans - what do you think, will there ever be an 'uphill' time for Cyan ever again?

  • Cyan worlds SHOULD TEAM UP WITH BETHESDA! that's what ID software did when they ran into financial troubles. At first they where going to go to EA but then they where like, eh fuck it and decided to go with Bethesda instead. I'm certain they'd help fund the project as long as it gets FINISHED!

  • @keithktam"so for Cyan, they are facing the unfairness of the world..." If that's what people want then that's what they should comply with. RPG is perfect for that company to make. It would have many myst elements of gameplay. There should be action as well.
