(Alien 3 and Aliens are really close and great for different reasons, but the original is by far the best. Alien Resurrection is not ranked in my mind because it doesn't deserve to be considered part of the series. It is garbage, just like the AVP films.)

Hey, I've reviewed the soundtrack for this film in depth on my blog. it's seanferricksstories . blogspot. com and I've gone into a bit of detail on what I feel is an excellent entry to the series. (I consider this the last film in the franchise. Alien Resurrection shouldn't have happened!! Shudder. Lets not bother discussing *those other films*) Check it out guys, see what you think!!

Beautiful. Does the Expanded Score include the Trailer Music? I saw it listed and thought that Elliot Goldenthal had composed a piece especially for the trailer? I would love to hear it.

@legendaryfatcat - I agree with you on everything except the order in which you rated the films. I think the ratings follows the order in which they were made.

In other words:

1. Alien

2. Aliens

3. Alien 3

Also, for anyone who wasn't already seen it, you MUST watch the making of Alien 3 (actually you need to see the making of ALL the alien films) and see just what kind of hell David Fincher went through to make this film. He didn't have a script half the time! Gives you a new respect for it!

@legendaryfatcat I think the same about Alien Resurrection, i mean, it was over in Alien 3, OVER! Ripley is dead, THE END! No need for another sequel... It was just fine the way it was...

I think both Aliens and Alien 3 are great because they can work separately from their predecesors, they are not common sequels that just go around the same over and over, they are all different and show something new. Now Resurrection, in my opinion is just "Let's make Ripley live again somehow, throw a bunch of Aliens in a spaceship full of people, show lots of blood, create some new disgusting looking Alien and make money out of a great saga that was just alright the way it was finished"

You must see the spezial edition from Alien 3, it is a half hour longer when the normal version, and the Alien came not from a dog!
