By analyzing the videos, Petursson looks to be more like 7'2" or 7'3" in height. You can tell by the way he walks, his legs are not long enough to qualify him as a true giant. He was just a tall person, much like today's basketball centers in the NBA like Shaquille O'neal or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who are 7'1'' and 7'2'' respectively. His facial features suggest acromegaly. In contrast, Robert Wadlow had no acromegalic features in his face, and he grew so tall that it made him very clumsy to walk.

@1aceves yeah Peturrson is far less than 8 feet but I don't think he is only 7'3". I think 7,7" is his official height.

It's amazing he lived as long as he did.(however long that was, I just heard it was a very long time) There are so many debilitating conditions that come with great height. This is especially outstanding if he really was acromegalic. btw his body is in really good proportion, a lot of tall people are really lanky. Doubt he was 8 foot 8 though...still pretty cool. :)

8,8"? No way. From pic and this vid analysis of him, he's only around 7,7-7,8" max. About the same height and built as Stadnik so he's probably around 400 lb. I've heard he's the longest living giant recorded (as in somebody over 7,6" who usually don't live very long).

Good point. I suppose you mean by well over 7 feet tall as a giant. He's indeed lucky to have lived so long despite his medical condition, and the same goes for 7,2" Richard Kiel.

he looks to be about 7,7-8" which is the same height as Stadnik. he definitely wasn't the tallest man even when he was alive.

wow he seems like a very patient, tolerant and friendly person. I don't think many (especially) taller people would be prepared to dress up as mythical giants to entertain children.




Looking at his face he may have had acromegaly. Whether he was the tallest man of all time seems beside the point, surely? The description doesn't allege any such thing.
